MISSION

The Buenos Aires British Hospital, founded in 1844, is a non-profit, public welfare organization, devoted to upgrade people’s health and to provide medical and hospital services of the highest quality within strict ethical codes, and with a firm commitment to society.

The British Hospital provides medical care to a wide cross-section of the Argentine community, and it maintains its original mission of delivering medical services to the English speaking community and their descendants, in accordance with their traditions and principles.

Furthermore, it is dedicated to academic excellency in the training of medical doctors and nurses, contributing with effort and perseverance to the advance of medicine

• We are a composite of Doctors, Nurses, Hospital Governors and Administrators in Private Medicine.

  We keep a balance between medical quality and efficient administration in order to ensure our commitment to the needs of those we serve. We encourage collaboration at all levels within our Health Team. We help model health policy, demonstrating that high quality and effective services can be provided, while also paying attention to the needs of the Argentine community.

• We are an economically independent, non-profit institution.

  We are devoted to the provision of excellent value, high quality and reasonably priced healthcare services.
  We manage the funds of our contributors, making every effort to invest capital without further external assistance.
  Briefly, we are devoted to continuing with the mission of the institution, regardless of external economic and political conditions..

  We treat our patient members, our providers of goods and services, and our Health Team members with respect. When we are confronted with unethical practices, we take every measure to correct them. We do not allow for unethical practices at any level in our institution.

• Our healthcare institution is managed professionally and the responsibilities of our staff are clearly defined.

  We train our staff in the delivery of high-quality healthcare services with the aim of meeting our patients’ needs. We identify and explicitly discuss with our staff their responsibilities, and make them liable for their actions.
